Remembering Christmas Time

December 4, 2019

In Cedarfield tradition, the Pastoral Care Team created this compilation of holiday memoirs by team members and residents. We will share one a day through the holidays. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Joan Tipton, Resident

When my children were young, and because family was not nearbyand church services were late, we created our own traditions at home, including a Christmas Eve service, writing poetry, making an Adventwreath, and lighting candles. My daughter, Tammy, wrote this poem twenty yearsago as a tribute to all those years of memory making.

Warm Winter Christmas thoughts
Dreaming of Christmas’ past
Drifting memories like
snow that doesn’t last.

Remembering…
A magnificent and tall tree…
A Trip to Santa’s village…
A Mexican lunch at Alvero Street…
A visit from Santa Claus himself…
A real sleigh ride with jingling bells…
A fireplace so brightly lit…
Christmas is a
Time of giving and sharing and loving.
Christmas is a time for
Happiness and remembering
The wonderful Christmas memories.
